Medicaid protesters, supporters greet Bell and Americans for Prosperity in Waynesboro

Americans for Prosperity came to Waynesboro Monday night to partner with Republican Delegate Dickie Bell for a townhall. The subject of Medicaid expansion was front and center, and supporters from both sides of the issue showed up. Bell and fellow delegates in the Republican-controlled House are against Medicaid expansion while the Senate is in favor of it as well as Governor Terry McAuliffe.

Political reporter Bob Stuart’s article, “Bell steps into lion’s den on Medicaid expansion,” noted:

During a two-hour town hall meeting co-sponsored by Americans for Prosperity, Bell, who represents Staunton and Waynesboro, received skepticism from much of the audience. He especially drew the ire of members of Virginia Organizing, a grassroots group that wants to expand Medicaid.
