More than four dozen Team Cantor members turned out Saturday in red tee shirts to participate in the Autism Society 5K at Innsbrook in Henrico. In the middle of them all was Eric Cantor, congressman and majority leader, whose team consisted of staffers and local families who have inspired him. One of those was Lee Talley who walked with his son, Harry.
“We want them to be part of our community,” the Congressman told WRIC TV-8. “Obviously in Washington we’re trying to work to try to understand more about autism and what we can do for our friends in the community.”
This is the Autism Society’s largest fundraising event of the year. In 2013, $97,000 was raised.
