I hear those on the right side of the political aisle complain about “Morning Joe” on MSNBC because he’s not conservative enough for them. However, I like Joe Scarborough because he provides opinions from both sides of the aisle. Monday morning was a good example.
He questioned why the media were so biased in covering for Democrats in the IRS scandal … and Democrats talking with him agreed. (See Scarborough savages NYT IRS email scandal: ‘This is a scam!’)
From IJ Review:
Morning Joe took its Democrat-heavy audience to an unhappy place by playing a little “opposite day” with the IRS scandal.
Time‘s editor Mark Halperin pointed out that the IRS scandal would be a “national obsession” if it had happened under a Republican president, and the panel described what kind of media coverage we’d be seeing if Democratic groups had been targeted.
Joe, noting the lack of media coverage, commented that if it was a Republican administration the news would be on the front page of every major newspaper in the country:
Not only did Republican Joe Scarborough go after the press for its weak sauce coverage of the IRS scandal, but Time‘s Bobby Ghosh agreed!
And that’s one reason I like “Morning Joe.”
