This morning was hot and humid in the garden as we gathered fresh vegetables that make for good eating this time of year. We often don’t even have meat with meals but rather enjoy the Yukon Gold potatoes, a variety of tomatoes, various types of peppers, yellow squash, and cucumbers, all growing in the back yard. Yum.
We brought in everything that was ripe or nearly ripe because of the weather forecast of thunderstorms the next two days with possible high winds and hail. SWAC Husband said if there was hail, he may have to throw himself across his biggest tomato plant to protect it. The mere thought made us laugh … his back would be pelted for the cause but, by golly, the tomatoes would be saved. Let’s hope we’ll have more rain and none of the other.
It’s summer in the Valley….
