Augusta County’s own Cestari Farms to feature wool products at New Hampshire show

Francis Chester 1By Lynn R. Mitchell

Our friends at Cestari Farms in Augusta County will be at the Manchester Knit and Crochet Show this weekend in Manchester, N.H. They will be located in Booth 413 and 415 selling lots of fantastic yarn that is Made in America with wool and cotton grown in the USA.

Check out their new item: 100% Cotton Yarn DK weight, hand dyed, for just $8.00 per 3.5 oz. – 250-yard skein.

My favorite sheep farmer Francis Chester will have some free yarn samples while they last.

Cestari is one of only a handful of operating sheep farms in the U.S. that offer wool made right here in America. He won the Made in Virginia – Western Virginia 2013 award from Virginia Living Magazine, a well deserved recognition of a family business that began in the 1960s. Located in Churchville and Augusta Spring in western Augusta County, Virginia, the Chester family continues to raise sheep and sell the wool while remaining in the Shenandoah Valley.

Check out Mr. Chester’s story in the Virginia Living magazine. He has a following from people all around the world. Check their website for retail outlets or order online.

Mr. Chester’s wool is some of the finest in America, and he is one of only five wool processing farms left in the U.S. (see Augusta County’s own Cestari Farms to feature wool products at New Hampshire show).
