Another business was announced by the Augusta County Board of Supervisors as they welcomed Blue Ridge Machine Works to the county’s Mill Place Commerce Park. President and CEO Mike Shelton plans to invest $1,350,000 to build a new facility in Mill Place Commerce Park, creating 10 new jobs for the area. Construction will begin in the fall with plans to be open and operational by spring 2015.
Blue Ridge Machine Works will offer “contract manufacturing, custom machined components, prototypes, and short run production machining to meet design and engineering needs for a variety of industries,” according to the Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce.
Funding will be provided by the Virginia Jobs Investment Program as well as recruitment and training. The company is moving from Grottoes to the new facility. A ground breaking ceremony was held last Wednesday.
