You’ve got mail? No, you’ve got wine in the rolling hills of Virginia north of Charlottesville at Early Mountain Vineyards tucked away in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Owned by America Online (AOL) internet CEO Steve Case and his wife Jean who purchased the bankrupt Sweely Estate winery and undertook extensive renovations, the venue offers an upscale winery for tastings of Pinot Gris, Viognier, Merlot, Chardonnay, and rosĂ© as well as other offerings. A cozy and romantic guest house is on the property, and they are also equipped for weddings and special events in a room with large windows overlooking the scenic Blue Ridge countryside.

The Cases invite visitors to sip a glass of wine by the fireplace or enjoy a picnic, taste offerings from surrounding farmers or relax with live entertainment. Another of Virginia’s wineries … Virginia food, Virginia wine, Virginia hospitality.
