Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be in Virginia September 30 to campaign on behalf of 10th Congressional District candidate Barbara Comstock just a month before the election.
Governor Romney, who ran as a GOP presidential candidate in 2008 and as the GOP nominee in 2012, has been hitting the campaign trail nationwide backing and supporting Republican candidates.
Washington Post reporter Rachel Weiner noted the fundraiser will be held at the home of Bobbie Kilberg, chief executive of the Northern Virginia Technology Council, and her husband Bill (see Mitt Romney to appear at Comstock event). The Post added:
Romney endorsed Comstock on Twitter the day she announced her congressional bid. He has been increasingly popular on the campaign trail this year, stumping and raising money for New Hampshire Senate candidate Scott Brown, Virginia Senate candidate Ed Gillepsie, the New Jersey GOP, and several national Republican committees. He’s also waded into contested primary races, backing Rep. Mike Simpson in Idaho, Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead, and state Sen. Jodi Ernst in Iowa.
Delegate Comstock is running for the seat of retiring Congressman Frank Wolf.
