The Fall signals the start of back to school, cooler weather, football season, and of course, political fundraisers. That time when Republicans get together to eat barbeque, listen to Blue Grass music and meet their local, state, and federal Representatives.
In the 5th District of Virginia, arguably the largest Congressional District in Virginia, that Representative would be none other than Robert Hurt. In the unlikely chance that you haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet Robert, you can plan to do so at this year’s Annual 5th District Fundraiser on September 28, 2014, at the Historic Oak Ridge Estate in Arrington, Virginia.
Starting time is 3:00 and will continue till 7:00 p.m. Tickets are very reasonable at $20 for an individual, $30 for a couple, $10 for students with a student ID, and children 12 years old and under are admitted for FREE.
George Caylor’s ‘Old Time Band’ will provide music and there will be a live auction along with corn hole tournaments to entertain and amuse you while you are eating your barbeque sandwiches.
Also on hand for you to meet and get to know is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate seat, Ed Gillespie. Once you meet Ed, you will understand why he is THE man to beat Mark Warner on November 4th. He is a proven leader who ‘has spent his career fighting for conservative principles of limited, effective government and personal liberty that help make life better and more prosperous for Virginians’ (from edforsenate.com/about).
Bishop E. W. Jackson will be in attendance as well to fire up the crowd. If you have never met E. W. Jackson, then you are in for a real treat!
Please put this event on your calendar and plan to bring plenty of family and friends with you. It promises to be a wonderful day and won’t be the same without YOU there!
Vivienne Smith resides in the 5th Congressional District of Virginia and is an active volunteer with the Republican Party.
