New 10th District Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) will be sworn in Tuesday for the 114th Congress and is holding an Open House reception for those attending.
This former member of the Virginia House of Delegates will represent not only her district but the Commonwealth and, in a delegation that is made up of all men, it is nice to see a woman take her place among the Virginia representatives. I couldn’t vote for her but certainly was in support of her (see First time I met the gracious, hard-working Barbara Comstock).
In an email, Ms. Comstock extended the invitation to join the swearing-in reception. As she has throughout, she also graciously took the opportunity to remind voters of Tuesday’s special election for Republican Craig Parisot who is running for her former delegate seat:
Thank you again for the honor of serving as your Congresswoman in the 10th District. Swearing-In Day for the 114th Congress is this Tuesday, January 6th. We will be holding a special Open House reception preceeding and following the swearing-in ceremony. Please drop in if this works for your schedule. It will take place at our new office on Capital Hill located on the 2nd floor of the Cannon Building, Room 226 from 10am to 3pm.
Please RSVP to let us know you are coming by replying to this email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 703-868-2429
Tuesday, January 6th is also the Special Election for the race to fill my seat in the Virginia House of Delegates and if you are in the 34th House of Delegates District we need your vote for Craig Parisot. Polls for this special election will be open from 6am – 7pm at your regular polling place. If you are not sure if you are in the 34th House District or where your polling location is, click here.
