Augusta County and Waynesboro City public schools will be closed Wednesday due to snow and icy conditions. Staunton City public schools are on a two-hour delay.
The sun came out Tuesday and helped melt snow and ice on driveways, sidewalks, and roadways cleared by VDOT. The high temperature for the day was in the upper 20s.
Forecasts for Wednesday show that the clouds move back in, daytime high temperatures will be in the upper 20s, and a there’s a chance of some light snow. Temps will plunge Wednesday night as an arctic front moves through with our area seeing the possibility of -7 degrees that will produce a wind chill of -15. Daytime highs on Thursday will only be in the single digits or low teens.
Stay warm out there. It’s still winter in the Shenandoah Valley….
