Snow has begun west of Staunton

??????????Thursday at 10:00 am: Snow-covered deck. Overnight rain turned to sleet and then turned to snow. Below is a photo of the deck at 7:00 a.m.

Snow 11Thursday at 7:00 am: Heavy overnight rains has washed away most of the snow from previous storms. Not long after this pic was taken, it began to sleet.

Once the change-over to snow occurred, it quickly began covering the ground. Heavy snow is expected to continue all day with 5-8 inches of snow predicted for the central Shenandoah Valley (see Augusta County under winter storm warning). All area schools are closed and motorists have been asked to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.
