Albert decked out in sparkly wintry icicle decor

By Lynn R. Mitchell

??????????After a fresh 8-10 inches of snow fell in Augusta County on Thursday, the sun came out Friday and caused icicles to form throughout the Valley. Warm sun + freezing temps in the 20s = decorations on Albert, our huge Colorado Blue Fir that was flocked with snow.

??????????It reminded of a mockingbird that had landed on the tippy-top spire a few years ago, much like a Christmas tree topper, something I wrote about at the time with pictures I had taken of the bird (see The mockingbird Christmas tree topper).

??????????Magnificent tree … sparkling wintry decor … the hidden beauty of winter.

Lynn, Baby Albert has grown to be such a beautiful tree any time of the year, especially when he is flocked with snow. I love your other pics. Mom

  2. Hasn’t he grown from when we moved here almost 20 years ago! I’m so glad we moved him from where he was originally planted and put him out front where he can be seen. Our beautiful evergreen tree….
