It feels like fall in the Blue Ridge Mountains

9The Blue Ridge Parkway around milepost 4 in Virginia. Fall-like temp at mid-day was 53 degrees — sweaters and sweatshirts were on tap on this mid-September Sunday.

15Hey, National Park Service, where’s the view? It has been obscured for years. If there’s no intention of clearing trees to restore the view of the Shenandoah Valley, perhaps the sign needs to go. A better sign: “View: Trees and fauna of Blue Ridge Mountains” … but I’d rather have the view of the Valley because most of the views along this part of the BRP are visible while driving and not where there are overlooks.

12It was busy on the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday — lots of tourists and locals, hikers, motorcycles, and bicycles.
