In the Shenandoah Valley we are fortunate to live in the shadow of the Shenandoah National Park. When it didn’t make the National Park Conservation Association’s Top 10 of the most visited national parks in the nation, I decided to look it up. With Glacier on the list at #10 with 2.3 visitors, Shenandoah comes in with an average of 1.3 million visitors a year.

Here are the Top 10 national parks that receive the most annual visitors in 2014:

  1. Smoky Mountain National Park – 10.1 million
  2. Grand Canyon – 4.8 million
  3. Yosemite – 3.8 million
  4. Yellowstone – 3.5 million
  5. Rocky Mountain – 3.4 million
  6. Olympic – 3.3 million
  7. Zion – 3.2 million
  8. Grand Teton – 2.8 million
  9. Acadia – 2.6 million
  10. Glacier – 2.3 million
