Politico is reporting that billionaire Charles Schwab will be host at two Jeb Bush fundraisers in California, and his wife has donated $1.5 million to Bush’s “Right to Rise” PAC:
The 78-year-old Schwab, who boasts an estimated net worth of $6.4 billion, is one of a handful of mega donors who have been watching the still-crowded Republican primary field play out. Other notable heavy-hitting contributors include gambling magnate Sheldon Adelson and hedge fund manager Paul Singer, who are also said to be major targets for [presidential candidate Marco] Rubio.
While Schwab himself has largely remained on the sidelines so far, his wife Helen Schwab has contributed $1.5 million to Right to Rise USA, the super PAC backing Bush.
Both Helen and Charles Schwab are listed as one of five pairs of co-chairmen for the two events for the former Florida governor on Oct. 20 in California — a luncheon in San Francisco and an evening reception in Woodside.
