Congratulations to Hanover County Supervisor Angela Kelly-Wiecek (Chickahominy District, former Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling’s former supervisor seat) on her election as vice chairman of the board of supervisors.
Angela was elected in November 2011. She chairs the Board’s Legislative subcommittee and also serves on the Finance and Safety/Security Committees. Ms. Kelly-Wiecek represents Hanover County as member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Richmond Partnership. She also represents Hanover County on the Capital Area Workforce Investment Agency Policy Board, the Capital Region Collaborative, and is the current Chair of the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission.
A 2006 graduate of Hanover County’s Citizens Planning Academy, Ms. Kelly-Wiecek has served on Hanover’s PDR Commission (2008) and High Speed Internet Committee (2010-2011). In 2010, Gov. McDonnell appointed her to the Board of Directors of GenEdge Alliance (formerly the A.L. Philpott Manufacturing Extension Partnership) where she currently serves as the Marketing subcommittee Chair.
Born and raised in the Richmond area, Ms. Kelly-Wiecek is a 15-year resident of Hanover County. She has an Associate in Science Degree from Richard Bland College as well as a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree from Averett University. Ms. Kelly-Wiecek has over 18 years of communications and public relations experience in private industry and manufacturing. She is now self-employed as an Industrial Marketing Consultant.
Ms. Kelly-Wiecek and her husband Paul are the parents of a Hanover County Public School student. Together they all enjoy sports, history, the beach, traveling and reading.
Statewide, the GOP seems to continue to do good, which is perhaps a good “grass-roots” indicator of things to come. YLSF
