Community To Enjoy Free Movies at Frontier Culture Museum

Something new and free is coming to Staunton and it’s sure to be a hit with young and old alike. “Movies at the Museum” will show movies free of charge in the Dairy Barn Lecture Hall at the Frontier Culture Museum. Reservations are necessary because of limited seating so look over the list below. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The first movie begins this Friday, January 21. Movies that are youth-oriented have afternoon showings while those more suitable for adults will be early evening with doors opening 30 minutes prior to start time. Check each movie listing for its start time.

Outdoor movies at the Dod Amphitheater will begin in May.

Concessions will be served for nominal cost:

Popcorn – $1.00 each
Drinks (Soda & Water): $0.50 each
Pizza – $1.50 each slice
Hot dogs – $1.50 each
Chips – $0.50 each
Candy – $1.00 each

The Secret Life of Pets

Saturday, January 21

This is a FREE event!

It may be cold outside, but our Lecture Hall will be nice and warm for two screenings of The Secret Life of Pets on Saturday, January 21st.  This is a kid-friendly event, so bring your blankets, chairs, or pillows!  And kids, bring your favorite stuffed animal with you to watch the movie!

The Tempest (2010)

In Shakespeare’s fantastical thriller, The Tempest, the magician Prospero orchestrates spirits, monsters, a grief-stricken king, a wise old councillor, two treacherous brothers and a storm at sea into a fantastical conspiracy bringing banishment, sorcery and shipwreck into the lives of two hapless lovers to stir and seal their fate. Here Prospero takes female form as Prospera who breaks her magical staff against an entrancing volcanic landscape at the end of her heroic quest.
