12 Days of Christmas … Day 9: ‘The Messiah,’ Blackfriars’ ‘A Christmas Carol’

The central Shenandoah Valley’s ‘Ovation Singers’ and orchestra present Handel’s “Messiah” at 3:00 this afternoon at R. E. Lee High School auditorium in Staunton. Admission is free to this timeless oratorio composed in 1741 and even more popular today than when it was first performed. Directed by Mr. Ray Hoaster of Staunton, guest soloists are Anne Wick Manes, soprano; Becky Fitzgerald, contralto; Brian Holsopple, tenor; Jeff Ryman, tenor; Robert Link Jr., bass. It’s a classic reminder of the reason for the season.
