??????????Virginia Bar Association (VBA) President John Walker, Republican candidate Ed Gillespie, Democratic Senator Mark Warner at the 2014 U.S. Senate debate at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. This is the annual summer gathering of the VBA which usually is held at Virginia’s Homestead Resort but rotates every few years to WVa.

Warner, Gillespie meet for first debate Saturday at Greenbrier

Virginia Democratic U.S. Senator Mark Warner and Republican candidate Ed Gillespie will debate Saturday during the Virginia Bar Association’s 124th annual summer meeting at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

The debate will be moderated by Judy Woodruff, PBS NewsHour co-anchor and managing editor, and PBS will livestream the debate. The candidate campaigns have agreed to the debate format: it will consist of opening and closing statements, candidate-to-candidate questions, and moderator questions.

Ed Gillespie accepts three more debate invitations

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ed Gillespie is adding more debates to his schedule, accepting three more invitations from the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce on October 7, the Virginia Bar Association on July 26, and a debate co-sponsored by the chambers of commerce from Loudoun County, Greater Reston, Prince William, and Fredericksburg. A mid-September date is being sought for that debate.
