Wintergreen celebrates March with skiing, maple sugar, Easter

There’s lots going on up on the mountain the rest of the month. Check out the fun activities going on at Wintergreen Resort.

  • Maple Sugar Days at The Nature Foundation, March 12
    Did you know the Nature Foundation makes maple syrup from sugar bushes on the mountain? If you want to try this delicious treat, come to the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, March 12 from 9-11 am. Then take a hike while you learn how it’s all done on the Sugarbush Sojourn from 1-3 pm.

  • Slide & Splash Bash Weekend, March 19-20 We’ll expand the terrain park to include all of Dobie and have a Park Party both days.The highlight of the Slide and Splash Bash Weekend is Pond Skimming. Choose your costume, strap on your skis or board, gather some speed, and try to make it across a 70 foot pond full of chilly water. Costumes are required, and figured into the judging process. Are you up for the challenge? Some will slide right across, some will splash; either way we’ll all have a blast!

  • Easter, March 25-27
    The Easter Bunny is practicing his hops, and we’ve been busy preparing too! Egg-citing activities including an Easter Bonnet Parade and Egg Hunt, Easter Egg-stravaganza featuring egg and cookie decorating and five other crafts, Peeps Roast, Peeps Diorama Contest and a Haiku Contest. Plus, there will be Egg-cellent Easter Brunch at the Copper Mine Bistro and Stoney Creek Bar & Grill.

Wintergreen appreciation days for neighboring counties and cities

Wintergreen Resort is thanking their neighboring friends from Charlottesville, Waynesboro, Staunton, Lynchburg, and the counties of Nelson, Albemarle, Augusta, Appomattox, and Amherst for their support by offering special ski deals.

During Appreciation Days, take your ID and on January 5-7, 2015, enjoy great savings on lifts, rentals and lessons. If your college is in one of these areas, just take your Student ID, even if you’re from out of state.

  • $49 for lift and rental, any session, $40 for lift ticket only
  • Upgrade to all-session ticket for an additional $10
  • Add Group Beginner Lesson for $18 (ages 8 & above)Tubing for just $10 on Tuesday or Wednesday for same time periods
  • Must present valid ID with residency in these areas, or Student ID for a college in these areas
