The Valley back roads on a spring afternoon

By Lynn R. Mitchell

1The clouds in the sky over the Shenandoah Valley were especially interesting on Saturday and so I pulled out my camera and began to take pictures throughout the warm spring day. This was the view of the Appalachians from my neighborhood with clouds above the ridges.

3There were signs of spring everywhere in the Valley including blooming trees, green grass, and trees there were beginning to leaf out in green. This is a neighbor’s yard full of spring colors.

6The redbuds have been beautiful this year.

10Spring has arrived along the Skyline Drive. We grabbed a late lunch and headed to Shenandoah National Park to find a quiet place to tailgate and take in the views.
