If you take the Bearing Drift writers and add cigars and coffee, you get an atmosphere for political discussion and visiting with friends and political allies. Add to that an awesome suite with a porch overlooking The Homestead’s Casino, ice skating rink, and outdoor spa pool all surrounded by magical holiday lights, and you’ve got the makings for an memorable evening in Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains.
That’s quite some impressive sponsors. Thanks, Bearing Drift … job well done, and so appropriate.
Aren’t they pretty? They were popular with suite guests, and a couple of them also smoked pipes. Hosts Brian Schoeneman, Shaun Kenney, and Matt Hall mixed it up with familiar faces who began crowding the porch as the evening went on.
Brian was dressed for the unusually warm December weather.
Shaun was trying to look serious on the very popular porch.
Not everyone picked up a cigar. Conversation was lively and, quite honestly, it was good to be able to catch up with some that I haven’t seen in a while.
Richard Crouse. Need I say more?
